Who are its members?

The Club provides most benefit to business persons who are actively involved in making and executing company policy regarding exports, as well as those wishing to enter this vitally important field. Club members are drawn from a cross section of companies associated with South African exports. They range from small firms to large corporations and comprise exporters, financial institutions, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other members of the export community. Club members are invariably senior export executives who are willing to share valuable (although obviously non-competitive) information on export related maters.

Profile

The development of South Africa’s export markets is not only a matter of economic concern at the national level – the benefits accruing from extended market opportunities may be felt at individual company level as well.

The Exporters Club of South Africa – Durban was established in 1979 to provide an informal forum for the exchange of ideas, information and experiences related to individual companies’ export efforts, as well as foreign market opportunities.

When are the meetings held?

The Durban Chapter holds regular meetings for their members. Meetings vary from breakfast or luncheon meetings to evening dinner functions, depending on the speakers’ and members’ preferences.

Different speakers are invited to these meetings to address the club members and their guests on topics of interest to exporters and other South Africans involved in foreign trade. Club meetings offer members the opportunity of being updated on new developments in the export community, new export and shipping services, export financial assistance schemes and networking with fellow exporters.
